This module has a microphone on board, and could be used to detect the sound or voice. It is a 4-wire module and could be used to both digital and analog signal.
The digital signal pin (D) will stay on high voltage level, until the sound/voice exceed the threshold. So monitoring the signal pin could know the environment is loud or quiet. Adjusting the potentiometer in blue can change the sensitivity of the module.
There is a blue LED on board as state indicator, and it will be turned on when the digital signal pin (D) goes to low voltage level . The voltage comparator is LM393, which has very good performance and reliability.
The voltage on analog output pin (A) will indicate how strong the sound/voice is. The stronger the sound/voice is, the lower voltage will be output on analog output pin (A).
