Hello,
I’m using a UUGear Mega4 board between a Linux host (USB 3.0 capable) and a mobile phone that supports fast charging but only connects as USB 2.0.
Here’s my setup and observation:
-
The phone can charge at 2 A when connected directly to its original charger.
-
I connected that same charger to the Mega4 board’s external power input, so that it can provide the highest possible charging current when the phone is connected through the Mega4.
-
When I connect the phone to the Mega4 (which is in turn connected to the Linux host), the phone enumerates as a USB 2.0 device.
-
However, the charging current is limited to about 500 mA.
My question:
Is there any way to make the Mega4 provide the full 2 A charging current (using the external charger connected to the board) even though the phone enumerates as USB 2.0?
In other words, can the Mega4 be configured to pass through or advertise higher charging current (like a dedicated charging port or BC 1.2 behavior) on its USB 2.0 port while maintaining data connection to the host?
Any guidance or jumper settings to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
