Zero2Go VIN input filtering question

Hi UUgear team,

I’m planning to use a Zero2Go Raspberry Pi Zero Power Supply with a Pi Zero 2W, powered from an existing internal unregulated DC rail (not a wall adapter) in an audio application and I have a couple of questions about the VIN input side. Are you able to advise, at a high level:

  • What input-side capacitance is already present on VIN (bulk and/or ceramic, approximate values)?

  • Is there any series impedance on VIN (e.g. ferrite bead or inductor) before the MP4462 buck stage?

Related to this: would it be safe and appropriate to add an external 16 V, 470 µF electrolytic capacitor directly across the VIN/GND header pins to improve input decoupling, or is that already adequately handled on the board?

I’m not looking for a full schematic — just enough information to integrate the board cleanly and avoid unnecessary duplication or side effects.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for a great product.

On the VIN input of Zero2Go Omini R2, there are some small ceramic capacitors (like 10uF and/or 1uF), and there is no ferrite bead or inductor.

It is safe as long as your input voltage doesn't exceed 16V.
