Today we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Vivid Unit Extender 2, which is the 2nd generation of Vivid Unit Extender!
What’s New?
The Vivid Unit Extender 2’s interface is fully compatible with the first generation, and it also has the same size, so it can be used as a direct replacement.
Unlike its predecessor, the Vivid Unit Extender 2 features a 4-wire DC blower that allows for real-time adjustment and measurement of fan speed. Furthermore, fan noise is significantly reduced.
The Vivid Unit Extender 2 has a fast charging protocol controller (CH224K) onboard, thus offering better compatibility with various PD/QC chargers. Although it does not have a DC/DC converter built-in, it does negotiate with those chargers and maximize the chance to get charger’s full output ability in 5V. The Vivid Unit Extender 2 also adds two screw terminals, which makes it much easier to integrate with external power modules (and we are developing one).
The new version of software (vue 2.0.1) can be installed now. The new version can show the RPM of the fan.
How about the Vivid Unit Extender (first generation)?
Vivid Unit Extender (first generation) is now discontinued, and it will be fully replaced by Vivid Unit Extender 2.
Vivid Unit Extender 2 works perfectly with VU GPSDR.
