I have used RK driver assistant to install drivers. Powering unit thru USB C connection. Set VU in maskrom mode multiple times. What am I missing?
Powering unit thru USB C connection.
Have you connected your Vivid Unit to your PC via USB-C cable?
How did you set your Vivid Unit to MASKROM mode?
Yes I'm connected to PC via USB-C cable
I have set VU to maskrom mode by pressing power and mask rom button for 5 seconds then releasing.
@test27 press and hold the MASROM button first, and then press and hold the power button, release them together after ~5 seconds. Is it the same as what you tried?
Have you tried different USB-C cables? Sometimes the problem may just come from the cable.
Yes, The VU seems to be going into maskrom mode, as the Debian 11 is not starting.
I have tried USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C
Can you recommend the correct cable that you use to install?
The VU seems to be going into maskrom mode, as the Debian 11 is not starting
Debian 11 not booting is not the same as being in MASKROM mode. There are other modes, and the Debian 11 booting may also fail and stop due to USB current limit from the PC.
If your VU is in MASKROM mode, you will see the "Found One MASKROM Device" message on the RKDevTool window.
I would suggest to use a USB-A to USB-C cable. If you have more than one cable, try them all. We have seen many cases that a bad cable causes an issue like this.
