Description

This case is composed 6 pieces of clear acrylic sheets, and can hold your 7-Port USB Hub (BIG7) and Raspberry Pi together. The acrylic sheets are 3mm thick and the case can protect your 7-port USB hub + Raspberry Pi very well.

The top cover can be opened so you can connect/remove cables to/from the CSI and DSI connectors. There is also a window for GPIO header, so you can still access all GPIO pins.

Remarks: starting from 2023.08.08, we added a new plate into this kit to support Raspberry Pi 4. However please be reminded that the pogo pins can not be used on Raspberry Pi 4, and you will need to connect BIG7 and Raspberry Pi 4 with mini USB cable.

 Step by Step Assembly Guide

The case is composed of six acrylic plates. Each acrylic plate has protective membrane on its surfaces, and you will need to remove the membrane before going to the next step.
Use tweezers or fingernails to peel off the membrane on both sides carefully, then you will see the smooth surfaces.

Connect the two side plates on the bottom plate, as shown below. Please pay attention to the direction of the plates, it is better to put them right at the first place.

Now we setup the left end, which has two holes for one USB port and the micro-USB jack. Slide the top of the plate over the two hooks on top, then gently pivot the plate downward over the two hooks at bottom. It should snap to the position. If you feel big resistance, don’t push it, or you might break the hook.
4
The left end is now assembled. If you need to remove it in the future, please make sure to start from the bottom hooks.
5
Now we can put the 7-Port USB hub + Raspberry Pi into the case, make sure to mount the USB hub under Raspberry Pi beforehand, and fix them with the copper standoffs, screws and nuts. Mount the top cover on its position (please double-check the direction, the window for GPIO header should align to the GPIO header). The two side walls may have a trend to expand, use your fingers to keep them in position.
6
The final step is to mount the right end plate. You should also start from the top hooks.
7
All done! The figure below shows how it looks like:
8
After connecting the power supply and the USB cable, it is ready to work.

  1. Evgenii

I bought two things: Big 7-ports active hub and clear acryl case for my Raspberry Pi and Hub. What I can say – simply perfect. Good quality stuff. Works as designed. Both are well crafted. Fit my Pi as a charm. I got rid of cheap china crap which sometimes cased my external devices to disconnect from Raspberry Pi. I wish we could have your reseller here in US as delivery may take a long time which has nothing to do with a good quality of goods. Case is clean and neat. Well-weighed shapes perfectly fits my device!
Gentlemen, keep on doing right things!!

Neat product. Easy to assemble. Fits perfectly with RPIi3 Big7 USB-hub.

International delivery to Sweden within 2 weekdays. Impressive!

  3. Richard A

Broke as soon as i tried to put the back plate on. It doesn’t have enough space for the 4 USB ports of the Pi to poke through. Worthless.
